Power Strip 8
Power Strip 8
This is a 12 volt power strip with one fused Powerpole* input socket and eight fused Powerpole output sockets. A bright 7-segment LED digital meter displays the Voltage in Red and the total current in Blue. The strip is rated at 40 Amperes total current. It comes with a 40 amp fuse installed in the input, and the installed output fuses are three 25 amp, two 10 amp, two 5 amp, and one 1 amp fuse. They may be re-installed in any manner and replaced. If a fuse is blown a red LED will illuminate behind the open fuse. To measure current a 3.3 milliohm resistor is in series with the positive lead. The voltage developed across this resistor provides the signal to be displayed as the total current in Amperes passing through the power strip. The strip's chassis is isolated from the negative lead. Note that most other Ampere meters measure on the negative lead making them very inaccurate when equipment uses a common ground, such as a radio installed in a vehicle that uses the chassis for ground. The Power Strip-8 is in a sturdy aluminum case. and the circuit board is triple thickness to handle the high current. It comes with a pack of 9 Powerpole pairs. * Powerpole is a registered trademark of Anderson, Inc.
